1. Purpose
This Privacy Policy explains how Cigar Experience collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information through this website, in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
2. Information we collect
- email address submitted through the launch-notice form;
- date and time of consent;
- consent-text version and source page;
- limited technical and security information processed by Cloudflare, such as IP address, browser/device information, request logs, and security events;
- aggregate, cookieless website analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) — such as page views, approximate region, and device type — which do not use cookies, do not build a profile of you, and do not track you across other websites;
- age-gate acknowledgement status stored locally in your browser.
3. Why we collect it
We collect this information to: send one email notifying you when our rebuilt website or online store launches; keep evidence of the consent you provided for that one email; operate, secure, and maintain the website; prevent spam, abuse, and unauthorized access; and respond to privacy or accessibility requests. We will not send ongoing marketing unless you separately opt in.
4. Consent
The launch-notice checkbox is unchecked by default. By checking it and submitting your email, you consent to receive one launch-notice email from Cigar Experience. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in the email or by contacting the store.
5. Service providers
This website is hosted and protected using Cloudflare services, which may process technical, security, cookieless-analytics, and form-submission data on our behalf. We do not sell, rent, or trade your email address.
6. Retention
Newsletter consent records are retained until the launch notice is sent plus 24 months, unless a longer period is required for legal defence. Security/abuse logs for non-subscribers are retained no longer than 90 days unless needed for an active investigation.
7. Access, correction, and deletion
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us. We may need to verify your identity before completing the request.
8. Safeguards
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including Cloudflare security controls and limited access to signup records.
9. Cross-border processing
Cloudflare and related infrastructure may process or store information outside Ontario or Canada. Where information is processed outside Canada, it may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction.
10. Changes
Cigar Experience may update this Privacy Policy. The current version and effective date are shown above.
