Cigar Experience (“we,” “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what limited information this website collects, how we use it, and your choices. It covers this website only — our in-store operations and any future online store will be covered separately when applicable. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect and why
- Newsletter sign-up. If you submit your email address to be notified when our new website launches, we store that email address and the date you submitted it. We use it only to send you that launch notice and occasional related updates. The legal basis is your consent, which you give by checking the consent box.
- Website analytics. We use privacy-first, aggregate analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) to understand general traffic — such as page views, approximate region, and device type. This does not use cookies, does not build a profile of you, and does not track you across other websites.
- Age confirmation. When you confirm you are 19 or older, that confirmation is stored only in your own browser (session storage) so you are not asked again during your visit. It is not transmitted to us.
- Security logs. Our hosting and security provider (Cloudflare) automatically processes standard technical data such as IP address and request details to keep the site secure and prevent abuse. These are retained briefly by the provider.
How we use your information
We use the information only for the purposes described above: to send the launch notice you asked for, to keep the website secure, and to understand aggregate usage so we can improve it. We do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.
Sharing and service providers
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We rely on trusted service providers — principally Cloudflare — to host the website, deliver analytics, and protect against abuse; they process data on our behalf. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.
Where your data is processed
Our providers operate global networks, so data may be processed on servers outside Canada. Where that happens, the information remains subject to safeguards appropriate to the service.
Retention
We keep newsletter email addresses until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you, or until the launch campaign concludes — whichever comes first. Aggregate analytics data contains no identifying details about you.
Your choices and rights
Under PIPEDA you may ask to access the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, withdraw your consent, or ask us to delete your email from our list. To do any of these, contact us at cigarsniagara@gmail.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Children
This website and our products are intended for adults of legal smoking age (19+ in Ontario). We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 19.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the limited information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take care to limit what we collect in the first place.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it was last revised.
